New Release by Lily Malone, see back cover blurb below.
But first, Lily tells us how her new release follows the story of her life.
Hi. I’m Lily, and I’m an addict.
I’m addicted to the area I live in. In case you haven’t heard of Margaret River, it’s a place of wonderful wines, stunning coastline, caves, forest, wildflowers, music, art, food, cows and oh, did I say wine?
I was born in the Margaret River area and it’s been home for most of my life, except for the 12 years in which I called South Australia home.
You see, I married a South Aussie bloke who sweet-talked me all the way to his home town, the Barossa Valley in South Oz… I was lured by talk of the wonderful wines I’d find when I got there. I loved the Barossa, but it was the Adelaide Hills where we settled, in another famous tourist town called Hahndorf. We renovated an 1890s cottage there, built a new home, and had our two gorgeous boys there.
Then in 2013 we moved back to Margaret River: the place that will, for me, always be ‘home’.
My new book, So Far Into You, follows this story of my life.
So Far Into You begins in Margaret River. The opening scene is at the Margaret River Wine Festival. It’s not the Festival as you would find it now, but the Festival I remember from my youth: a big community event held under a marquee in the local park, where winemakers, grapegrowers, and the locals all gathered to celebrate the making of the wines of the region.
I remember ‘plank walks’ at the festival where teams would have to negotiate their way around the park, over hay bale obstacles and around wine barrels with their feet strapped onto planks.
These were wonderful and simple country times, and they find a place in So Far Into You.
The hero and heroine are Seth and Remy. Fate brings them together on a ‘plank walk’ at the Margaret River Wine Festival and then fate (with a little help from Seth’s truly awful mother) tears them apart. Five years later, Remy meets Seth once again but this time she’s in South Australia, near Hahndorf, on her own home turf, with a dog called Breeze.
And Seth is about to rock Remy’s world all over again.
So, much like me, Remy has a voyage from Margaret River to the Adelaide Hills…and also like me, she had a hero waiting 🙂
PS Breeze is the tan dog on the left in the photo. She’s pictured here with our male dog, Jarman. So Far Into You is dedicated to these American Staffordshire Terrier fur-babies, neither of whom are with us any longer. But boy, when they were here, did they make an impact!
A new Australian rural romance about a millionaire wine tycoon, the woman he betrayed and the second chance neither was looking for…
When she cut her viticulture degree short and moved home, Remy wasn’t thinking about anything more than making the next dollar for her pocket. Working two jobs to keep food on the table and a loan shark from the door, Remy and her mother slowly build a new life together. Then a freak storm tears through the Margaret River Wine Festival — and Seth Lasrey tears through Remy’s life.
Seth is old money. She is no money. He’s the boss. She’s his employee. He is society connections and expectations. She is threats and bad decisions and lost dreams. They seem to be so wrong they can only be right — until a costly mistake and a timely deception drives them apart. Remy picks up the pieces of her life and begins anew. The last thing she expects is Seth to show up in her small town in South Australia, bringing with him memories that she can’t escape and a damaged heart that she’s not sure she can resist.

This sounds really good, definitely one for my “to read” list 🙂
Hi Kez - thanks for visiting 🙂
Congrats! on your new book. Love the cover. Thanks for sharing about the place that is dear to you. I’m not entering the giveaway as I read e-books online from the library. Just wanted to write a message..Handsome pets, though they are gone their memories always bring a smile. I love dogs and most animals except snakes and rats.
Hey Jessy - yes those two dogs always make me and my hubby smile. Gawd they got into some scrapes together! In the book (if you get to it at the library) you’ll find Jarman has been renamed Occhilupo - after a surfer, but Breeze is (and always will be) Breeze.
Congratulations on your new book. I can’t wait to get my hands on your book as I love reading Australian Authors. We are extremely lucky to have so many great Authors in our beautiful country
Hi Desiree. Thank you! My book is e-book only for now, but I hope some day I might be able to hold a version of it in my hot little hands. Yes - we do have so many wonderful authors in Australia - many of them are on this website!
Huge congrats Lily! I loved it…your best yet in my opinion 🙂 Loved reading about your history too - and the parallel story line 🙂 x
Hello Brenda! Thank you. I like to think that I’m improving in this writing caper as I’m going along - so it’s nice to hear you say that!
Lilyyyyyyyyyyy! So looking forward to this. But Amazon emailed me and said there was a hitch with my preorder. So I emailed them and said they had better fix things quick smart. And they did! Off into editing for me now, but this will be waiting for me at the other end. 🙂 And dogs! What characters they look too. 🙂
Jennnnnnnnnnnnnn!! By golly I’m glad to hear you gave those Amazon peeps a good old fashioned bush bollocking! I knew one day those dogs would find their way into one of my books. I could not keep them out a moment longer! Hugs to you. Thanks as always for your friendship and wonderful support. xx
I visited the Margaret River area a very long time ago. I have no doubt that while some things have remained the same others are very different.
SO FAR INTO YOU sounds wonderful.
Hi Mary! Thank you! I tell you what, after my 12 years in South Oz you hit the nail on the head. Margaret River was still fairly ‘sleepy’ when I left… you should see it now. (I’m not sure I like it quite as much I must admit) - but the beaches/bush and area surrounding are still as lovely as ever and some of the progress is great - like more boardwalks at the beach areas/viewing platforms etc. Thanks for visiting here at ARR.
What a fantastic setting for your new book. This goes on my growing To Read list
Oh those To Be Read lists are killers aren’t they! We all need more hours in the day 🙂 Thanks for visiting Peta-Lee.
Another lovely rural romance to add to my nearly full kobo!.
Hi Bronwyn - lovely to meet a Kobo reader. My best friend swears by her Kobo, but it’s always been Kindle for me! Thanks for visiting 🙂
Will be adding to my Xmas list… Would love to read before hand but have been ‘banned’ from buying books til Xmas!! 😳😳
Hi Cheryl-Lee! Now who would be banning you from buying books! that’s unheard of 🙂 Just by the way - right now - it’s only about $1 to get it on Kindle. It’s not a print book (not yet). One day! 🙂
Lily I have not heard of you, but you. One highly recommended by your peers. I love the idea of a book with a country flavour that involves wine too!! I’m always interested in discovering a new author. All the best 😊
Hi Janine- I’m good at reading predictive text. I knew exactly what you meant! Don’t worry. Thanks for visiting. It is fun having authors that you know you will always love - whose work you just sink in to - but it is also great finding a new author if they have a style of writing that ‘sings’ to you. (Excuse me for being a bit poetic!) Either way, thank you for visiting here on ARR, and all the best 🙂
Should read - you come highly recommended by your peers!!! Damn predictive text 😁
HI! Lily,
I’ll surely order your book at the library.
Hello Jessy! My book is just in e-book at the moment so I’m not sure how the library works with things like that, but thank you for visiting ARR anyway, and thank you for taking a moment to comment 🙂
